The Believing unto Salvation

Today, we will be looking into one of the most popular bible verses, it is impossible as a Believer not to know this scripture in Romans 10 vs 9 – 10, it is what I call the Believing unto Salvation.

When sharing the gospel with those who haven’t yet accepted salvation, I often conclude with this powerful verse of scripture.

This passage serves as a compelling invitation for individuals to embrace faith and receive the gift of salvation.

We all face a common challenge: people can’t rescue themselves from their flaws.

No matter how hard we try, we can’t break free from the grip of wrongdoing or the negative forces that seem to control us. It’s like being stuck in quicksand – the more we struggle on our own, the deeper we sink.

What I mean is this; Man cannot save himself and will never will. Man can’t free himself from the nature of sin or the authority of the Devil.

Salvation is primarily the saving of Man’s soul which cannot happen with angels but can only be done with God becoming a man.

The Salvation of man has been planned from the foundation of the world, this message is what we preach in all sincerity that at last, we have the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

ROMANS 10 VS 9 – 10 MEANING

the believing unto salvation

Our opening text is taken from Romans 10 vs 9 – 10.

Verse 9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (KJV)

Verse 10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

First, Salvation is a spiritual experience; it is not a psychological experience.

Salvation is called the new birth, new life, new creation, or being born again.

This means that a specific activity is required to produce such a spiritual experience.

The salvation experience cannot be felt and noticed physically. That is the reason it is possible to produce false converts without being aware.

So, how do we produce true salvation? This can only happen when we share the gospel of Christ with our unsaved friends and families or a preacher comes in contact with them.

The Salvation message is about the love of God expressed in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus for our sins.

Paul puts it this way in 1 Corinthians 15:17-19 saying if Christ did not rise from the dead, we are still in our sins and we are of all men most miserable.

The Christian faith I hinged in this matter: Christ is no more in the Grave; he is alive and therefore my faith is active and produces results always. Glory! Halleluiah!

When we share the gospel, it should result in salvation and nothing else. The Gospel of Salvation was never about us; it will never be.

It is not about money, becoming a billionaire, asking for breakthroughs or miracles.

The gospel is always about what Jesus did by dying and rising from the dead for our sins so any conversion that did not come from the preaching of the gospel of Christ’s death and resurrection is false.

1 Corinthians 1:22 – 24 says: For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

Verse 23: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

Verse 24: But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the Power of God, and the wisdom of God.

When the true gospel is preached, it is required of men to believe or deem it as true.

Therefore, we can say that the believing unto salvation is the belief that out of God’s love, Jesus came to die and was resurrected after the payment for sins had been made.

This singular act of Christ has made eternal life and forgiveness from sin available.

It is this knowledge that gives you the consciousness that you are now a new creation that never existed before, you are not a patched second-hand life but brand NEW and you have all the blessings in Christ.

This is the belief that is required when the gospel is preached. This means that when the gospel is false, this belief or faith cannot be expressed and salvation cannot take place.

There is nothing required of you to do to be saved than to receive freely God’s gift of salvation when the gospel is preached.

If you are in church, ask yourself these 3 important questions;

1) What took you to church?

2) What were you told or what message was preached to you?

3) What did you believe?

The answers to these questions will let you know if you are saved or had a false conversion.

It is also possible to be saved but still be doubting your salvation because of false teachings.

If you heard and believed the gospel, you are saved, and begin to live with the consciousness of the blessings of redemptions.

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness” means that from the inner core of our being, we accept as true what redemption in Christ achieved for us.

While “confession is made unto salvation” means that we confess the Lord Jesus to be saved, the confession here doesn’t mean “confessing your sins” but saying the same thing or declaring what the heart has already believed which is Jesus died for my sins, rose again and has declared me righteous.
