If there is one thing that affects all of humanity, no matter our status, it is death. Beyond death itself, we all wonder what happens when we die.
Is there life after death? What happens to a loved one who died without Christ? Is there salvation after death?
Is there a way I could plead with God to give my loved one a second chance?
God is always good; He will never leave us in the dark. He is not a God of confusion, so He gave us His Word as our guide to help us when we don’t know our way.
Today, we will carefully examine the mind of scriptures concerning being saved after death.
This examination will equip us to walk in the fullness of the salvation we have received.
NO SALVATION AFTER DEATH BIBLE VERSE

When we study scriptures, the Riches of Christ has always recommended that you do not read your experiences or thoughts into the Bible.
Rather, you should allow the Bible to bring you to its place of understanding arriving at a point.
For in the mouth of two or three witnesses, a truth or doctrine is established. Now, let’s see scriptures that say there is no repentance after death or no salvation after death:
Hebrews 9:27 – 28 (KJV) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Verse 28: So, Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Hebrews tells us that once someone dies, the next thing that follows is judgment, not salvation.
Verse 28 went further to say that Jesus has paid the price for sin in his first coming, Jesus coming again is to take us home, for where he is, there we will be. He isn’t coming again to deal with Sin.
That’s why when we go for evangelism, we tell the sinner that his sins are already forgiven and your sin cannot take you to hell anymore, accept the sacrifice of Christ today!
2 Corinthians 6 vs 2(NLT) says: For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. “Indeed the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NLT) Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.
If there is no planning or knowledge in the grave, do you think the unbeliever can still receive salvation when he dies? The answer is no.
John 8:24 (NLT) That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.
This is from the Lips of Jesus, it is possible to die in your sins and yes there is no coming back or repentance when you die but if you believe in what Christ has done for you, even when you die, you will be with Jesus not separated from him for all eternity.
Luke 16:19-31: This is the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. In this story, after death, the rich man cannot cross the great chasm between Hades and Paradise, suggesting no change in status after death.
This story in Luke 16 vs 19 – 31 answers the question of what if you die before you repent? The answer is simple, you won’t be with Jesus for all eternity.
Revelation 20:11-15: This describes the final judgment, where people are judged based on what they had done in life, with no mention of post-death repentance.
WILL THERE BE A SECOND CHANCE FOR SALVATION AFTER THE RAPTURE?
To begin, the term “Rapture” isn’t mentioned in the Scriptures but we have various bible passages that tell us that there will be a time we will be “taken away”, let’s see them:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NLT) “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.
Verse 17: Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord Forever.
This bible verse teaches us that Christians who die in Christ will rise from the dead, which means they will receive new bodies and we who are alive in Christ will all join them with Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (NLT) But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!
Verse 52: It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
Verse 53: For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
Don’t you want to have immortal bodies? Then accept Jesus today, death has been defeated, one day, all our loved ones who died in Jesus will be given immortal bodies, and, the best part, we will see them. Cheer up!
Matthew 24:40-41 (NLT) Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left.
Verse 41: Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.
John 14:3 (NLT) When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
Based on the following scriptures, there is no second chance for salvation after we are taken away or raptured.
Don’t you know we are the salt and light of the earth, what do you think will happen when we are gone?
Think for a moment, what the world is like now. Then stop and imagine how it will be when we are gone, now is the time of salvation, accept the Lordship of Jesus today!
CAN A TRUE BELIEVER LOSE THEIR SALVATION?
This question has brought up a lot of debate in the Christian Circle, it is rather sad that many believers are taken by emotions and not by God’s word.
The truth is if a Believer can lose his or her salvation, then we are all in trouble, in the words of Paul, we are of all people most miserable.
The Bible says: What God does is forever (Ecc 3 vs 14). If so, are we saying that salvation is temporal?
If it is temporal, then I must say that Jesus didn’t deal with sin, defeat the devil, or preach salvation to the old saints who rose with him from the dead.
We are also saying that Jesus’ words on the cross saying “it is finished “is a BIG LIE. And if there is one thing that God cannot do is to LIE, the Devil is a LIAR for he has been lying from the beginning.
Did you know why there is Joy in heaven when a sinner repents (Luke 15 vs 7)? Because there is no going back!
Now, think with me, imagine the moment you get saved, and after a while you sin, what do you think happens?
The angels in heaven say oh no, now he has messed up, there is no salvation anymore for him. Who you do think will be saved or work out their salvation this way? Of course, no one.
That is why they rejoice!
Did you know that we have been sealed (2 Corinthians 1 vs 22, Ephesians 1 vs 13, Ephesians 4 vs 30) with the spirit of promise? The seal shows authenticity not fake; it shows we are his for eternity not temporal.
But what of the sin of the holy spirit? This I have covered in another teaching. Let me ask you, how did the Apostle handle carnal believers?
Especially in the Church of Corinth, did Paul tell them they would lose their salvation? Of course, not, instead he pointed them to their identity in Christ for correction and this is how to help a new believer after he gets saved.
If a carnal believer can’t lose their salvation, how much more a mature believer lose his or her salvation?
Below are scriptures that show us that salvation is eternal and a believer cannot lose his salvation:
Hebrews 5 vs 8 – 9: Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.
Verse 9: In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.
Hebrews 7 vs 25: Therefore, he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Hebrews 9 vs 12: With his own blood, not the blood of goats and calves, he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
Hebrews 9 vs 15: That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ dies to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
Hebrews 10 vs 14: For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
Hebrews 13 vs 20: Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood.
These scriptures in the Book of Hebrews explain the following:
- Jesus as the source of eternal salvation
- The completeness and constant of this salvation
- The eternal nature of the redemption Christ obtained
- The promise of an eternal inheritance
- The perfection of believers through Christ’s sacrifice
- The eternal nature of the covenant is sealed by Christ’s blood.
Other scriptures are:
John 5:24: “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
John 10 vs 28: I give them eternal Life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.
Romans 6 vs 23: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God which is salvation, is eternal Life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Italics are mine*
I John 5 vs 11 – 13: And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Verse 12: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
Verse 13: I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
Question: Do you believe in Christ? If yes, then you have eternal Life now not tomorrow not when you die, you have Eternal Life now!
Do you think God can recall or take away the eternal life or Salvation that he has given you?
If you think your mistakes can make God, take away the eternal salvation, he has given you, then Romans 8 vs 38 – 39 is a BIG LIE!
Titus 3:7: Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
1 Peter 1 vs 3 – 5: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,
Verse 4: And we have a priceless inheritance- an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
Verse 5: And through your faith (believe in the Gospel), God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. Italics are mine*
Ephesians 1 vs 13 – 14: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Verse 14: Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
We have been sealed with the holy spirit of promise and we cannot be unsealed. Glory to God!!
Philippians 1 vs 6: And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
The good work of Salvation will be carried on by Christ Jesus and not you, let this love that God has made available to us direct our steps today and forever more.
Blessings, Saints!
