Bible reading is an integral part of our faith. The Christian Life is lived based on knowledge, for the just is delivered through knowledge.
Jesus told the Jews in John 5 vs 39; Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
This means the scriptures testify of Jesus. From Genesis to Malachi and Matthew to Revelation, the scriptures testify of Jesus.
One quick way to indulge ourselves in the word of God is to create a Bible reading plan that is both beginner-friendly, intermediate, and advanced.
This bible reading plan generator helps you keep tabs on the written word as it takes the place of the risen Christ so you grow and get established in the faith.
With this attitude and Knowledge that the Word of God is the risen Christ, you pay attention when reading, jot down questions, and prayerfully labour in the Word.
Paul told Brother Timothy in I Timothy 4 vs 13: Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
HOW DO I CREATE MY OWN BIBLE READING PLAN?
Start with Familiarity: Begin your journey with a book you already know and love. This will build confidence and momentum.
Diversify Your Reading:
- Old Testament: Choose 1-2 books from Genesis to Joshua and Judges to Esther.
- Wisdom Literature: Select one book from Job to Song of Solomon.
- Prophets: Pick 1-2 books from Isaiah to Malachi.
- Gospels: Include one or two books from Matthew to John.
- New Testament Letters: Choose 1-2 books from Acts to Revelation.
Set Realistic Goals: Decide how many chapters you can comfortably read each day. Remember, consistency matters more than speed.
Embrace Flexibility: Your plan might take weeks or months to complete. That’s perfectly fine!
You are not in competition with anybody and this is not racing to the finish line.
It’s a love relationship with your father, he loves you eternally and unconditionally, and you are already accepted in the beloved.
Repeat and Explore: Once you’ve completed your initial plan, create a new one focusing on different books. This way, you’ll gradually cover the entire Bible.
Make It Visible: Print out your plan and place it somewhere prominent. This serves as a daily reminder and helps you track your progress.
Finally, remember that this is a journey of love and growth with your Heavenly Father. Let this truth guide and encourage you as you study His Word.

HOW TO PLAN TO READ THE BIBLE?
Here is my Personal Bible Reading Strategy;
After selecting the books and chapters, I determine the best time and place for my daily reading.
I Choose an Ideal Time, I usually prefer one of two-time slots:
- Evening: 8 PM to 10 PM, after dinner and before bed
- Morning: 5 AM to 6 AM, before my daily routine begins.
I find a calm, distraction-free environment for my reading.
I avoid multitasking during my Bible time. I set aside my phone, turn off the TV, and focus solely on God’s Word.
Remember, concentration is key to truly absorbing and reflecting on Scripture.
After reading, I spend a few moments in prayer, allowing the Word to settle in my heart before starting my day.
By following these steps, I’ve created a consistent and meaningful Bible reading habit which has led me to memorizing various bible verses that I meditate on daily.
I encourage you to develop a similar routine that fits your lifestyle and helps you connect with God’s Word daily.
Finally, the goal is quality time with Scripture, not just checking off a task. Find what works best for you and stick with it.
WHAT PART OF THE BIBLE IS GOOD FOR BEGINNERS?
Every part of the Bible is necessary for the growth of a believer, from Genesis to Revelation. I must point out here that the Bible is a book about Jesus, not a business material.
The Bible is a historical, Apostolic, and Doctrinal material that should be read with utmost precision and carefulness if not, you will end up mixing things up and end up confused.
The Bible wasn’t written in our time and tongue; hence, we need to take into consideration the language it was written.
With the Old Testament written in Hebrew, and the New in Greek, the Bible also has a little Aramaic Language.
However, personally, after I became born again, I started reading the Gospels, then the New Testament written by the Apostles because they represented our newfound faith, after I became comfortable, I proceeded to the Old Testament.
After a while, I noticed that in the Old Testament, Jesus is concealed while in the New Testament, Jesus is revealed.
Secondly, the Old Testament books have a lot of types and shadows, a lot of Prophecies concerning Christ, especially in Psalms, Esther, the Prophets, etc.
Therefore, a beginner can start reading the Bible from the New Testament to grasp his identity in Christ, those letters are our stand in the Gospel.
Bro. Kenneth. Hagin would always say to carefully mark and write down scriptures that have to do with “I have”, “Christ is “who Christ is to us”, “what Christ has accomplished for us”, “what we can do through him”, “the Pauline Prayers”, begin to pray along this line, see yourselves in the light of these scriptures and begin to confess them.
You will experience a drastic shift in your Christian walk.
The scriptures written by the Apostles form our DOCTRINE today, we believe what they believe, speak what they spoke, teach what they taught, and pray the Apostolic way.
We do not try to change the Doctrine or innovate with the Scriptures, rather we are loud where the Scriptures are loud and quiet where it is quiet so we do not go into error.
A beginner should read the Bible as one book, one material, if possible, without chapters and verses in your mind not literally so you don’t interpret scriptures out of context.
As a good bible student, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced, it is good you understand that there is no correct order in reading the Bible, kindly do what is best for you.
I also recommend you get good books or teachings by Kenneth E. Hagin, Brother Charles Chapps, W.E. Kenyon, Andrew Wommack, John G. Lake or Curry Blake, etc.
These books and messages were my foundations and accompanied me in my faith journey, I still read them today.
They are centered on Christ, not self, about righteousness, your authority as a believer, the character of God, our identity in Christ, understanding spirit, soul, and body, the Salvation story, Holiness, and other important pillars of the Gospel.
In all honesty, these foundations are the first thing believers should pay attention to when reading the Bible, it is a recommended place to begin as a beginner.
WHAT IS THE 5 X 5 X 5 BIBLE READING PLAN
The 5x5x5 Bible Reading Plan is a simple method to read the New Testament:
- Read 5 minutes a day
- 5 days a week
- 5 ways to dig deeper
The “5 ways to dig deeper” typically include:
- Underline keywords or phrases
- Put the main thought in your own words
- Ask a question about the text
- Find an application for your life
